HMI & SCADA software for Internet Explorer 8.0 released.

Use Microsoft's new Internet Explorer® 8.0 web browser to view and control industrial controls and facilities automation systems.

March 24, 2009 - Milpitas, California

Broadwin Technology Inc. announces the release of the WebAccess client for Internet Explorer® 8.0. The WebAccess client supports tabbed browsing, the new look and security of IE 8.0.

Broadwin WebAccess® is among the first HMI & SCADA software to support an Internet Explorer 8.0 compatible client.

Using the new IE 8 web-browser, users can view and control automation equipment used in manufacturing facilities, industrial process plants and building automation systems. Unique to WebAccess, all configuration and deployment can be performed remotely through a the web browser including IO configuration, graphics building and remote software administration.

“Broadwin developed WebAccess using Internet Technology, unlike our competitors that offer a patch-like approach of adding a Web browser to their older platforms.” explained Tom Carter, Broadwin's Product Marketing Manager.  "This allows Broadwin to respond rapidly to new Internet Technology and allowed Broadwin to incorporate Internet Explorer 8.0 into the WebAccess HMI & SCADA software quickly and seamlessly."

The WebAccess Client for Internet Explorer 8.0 (and 7.0 ) is available for desktop computers and laptops running any Microsoft 32-bit and 64-bit operating system including Windows 2000, 2003 Server, XP Professional, Vista Business and Vista Ultimate. WebAccess 6.0 candidate provides customers with unprecedented browser-based access to industrial control and building automation applications.

Internet Explorer 8.0 supports all features of WebAccess. Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0 also supports all features of WebAccess. For more information, visit BroadWin’s web site at http://www.BroadWin.com.
